BE LEADERSHIP CAMPS - Intensive Leadership Camps focused on developing practical life skills - enabling young people to build and use their leadership skills in everyday life.
Target group
BE Leadership Camps work directly with 30+ marginalised and
socio-economically disadvantaged young people aged 15-25, with a focus
on those from indigenous, culturally disadvantaged and/or minority
groups. Additionally, the camps work with up to 30 support workers and
artists to develop skills in using AIP as an individual and community
development tool. There are two camps run each year.
Aims & objectives
BE Leadership Camps objectives are to:
- Use intensive mentoring and coaching techniques to build on the workshop program;
- Seek to extend participants;
- Build personal awareness, leadership, inter-personal and self-management skills;
- Build artistic skills;
- Improve participants’ capacity to engage with other participants;
- Deliver BE supported AIP based community development programs in their local communities.
Outcomes
BE LEADERSHIP CAMPS outcomes sought include:
- To conduct and deliver leadership camps;
- To successfully engage participants and support networks;
- To develop leadership skills;
- To provide opportunities to apply leadership skills at the camp and in the camp planning process;
- To provide intensive skills training and development support;
- To conduct quality AIP program activities / workshops
- To produce quality performance / exhibition outcomes
Beyond Empathy has developed Key Performance Indicators and clear steps to be taken to achieve these KPIs to ensure the achievement of the above outcomes.
